An interesting acronym, I’ll explain it in a moment.
But beforehand, let’s agree that people need to feel good about themselves. It builds confidence and more importantly, it shapes self-esteem.
Self-esteem is the fuel that motivates us, gives us the ability to succeed in every aspect of our business and personal lives.
But self-esteem is fragile. For some people it snaps very easily. Their self-esteem is only as good as last week’s victories or successes as some have a very short memory of triumphs.
The answer is to start collecting IDGs either in memory, computer files or paper.
IDG stands for “I did good”
Whenever you have a success, however small and insignificant – your IDG – make a note of it somewhere and when you feel your self-esteem slipping, just glance at the back issues of the IDGs and your self-esteem will come bouncing back.
Simple. I had an IDG today here in Dubai, where’s my IDG diary?
